Yes this is it. I can’t stand it when I bite into an onion ring and the onion just slides out leaving behind fried, seasoned batter
I love mozzarella sticks but they're a choking hazard. Imagine choking on one, and people are too impressed by the cheese pull while trying to save you. I get these whenever I go to the renn fair. So good. They're a staple in pubs everywhere in the UK, don't find them much in the US but a good fried button mushroom is ace.
Sauce is more important to me than cheese but cheese is better than sauce at making bad crust palatable
just give me dough, sauce and toppings. The cheese is only useful for keeping the toppings from sliding off
You can make a pizza bowl or a pizza sub with just a combo cheese and sauce. It could be argued that crust is the least crucial part of pizza.
Is greek style pizza a thing at all outside of New England? Google say it's primarily a New England thing, but idk if that just means it's less common in other areas It is absolutely my favorite kind of pizza. Crispy, crunchy crust that could cut your throat if you don't chew it enough and lots of grease lmao.
I find Greek pizza to be pretty bad on the scale of pizza styles (don’t love the crust) but in a good endearing kind of way. I’ve only ever seen it in New England. There’s a Greek pizza place in my town that does a killer spinach pizza. Loads of spinach and feta under the cheese. When I lived in Buffalo I found the sauce used at most pizza places to be far too sweet.
It can be hit or miss for sure - I've found that Nick's Place in Newmarket makes the best Greek pizza that I've been able to find in the state. They even make a "beach pizza" Greek style, round pizza but with that typical sweet sauce and provolone you would normally find on a square Tripoli's pizza
Yeah a greek style here would have like gyro meat on it or something. I need to try all these different kinds. I still haven't had a proper Detroit style.
Most Greek styles are serviceable but I don't enjoy them really at all. I don't understand how it is so hard to find NY style in New England when there are so many NYer's that visit/live up here.
