This is what I did. The old Italian grandma trick is to use the empty tomato can as your water cup to get a good mixture.
I just waited in a long line for my first beignet and it's fine because fried dough is delicious but I would take a churro over that any day. I have no beignet basis for comparison so can't compare it to like going to New Orleans or something but churro >>>> Edit: update apparently this was not my first beignet. Now this is anticlimactic
Bagels have holes to prevent air bubbles from forming, also it lets the bagel cook more evenly. If you try to make an unholed bagel the center would be too doughy and uncooked. So no Mick they wouldn't. Some things are the way they are for a reason. It's not like some baker arbitrarily decided bagels should have holes and everyone else followed suite lol
I think it suck’s when I make a bagel sandwhich and all the stuff falls out of the hole. It would be better if there wasn’t a hole
Upon googling, I guess bagels without holes do exist, but they're not considered bagels if they don't have a hole. They're called Bialy Bread. As you can see it has a indent from air bubble and a doughy center
personally love a chunky bagel. When I get one that looks like the ones in the front of this pic I'm stoked. Sucks when the hole is nearly as wide as the bread itself:
In general, yes. but I specifically want good bagel bread without the dumb hole that loses all my incredible chicken salad I made
That's why when you make a bagel sandwich you're supposed to slice it in two halves and spoon any chicken salad lossage from the center cut back into the sandwich. Can't have a hole when it's two crescents
my response was meant as a compliment! love the vernacular and specificity of chicken salad lossage lmao
