boston cream donuts are my favorite. hard to beat a dd boston cream. specialty shops seem to blow it on both the chocolate and the cream. sad. thankful there are two dunkins within a ten minute walk of me.
all donuts can be good donuts if you make them that way. controversial, I know. But I do love an apple fritter. and cronuts.
I'll regularly go to our local donut spot just to get a dozen fritters over any of their donuts. Blueberry, apple, and maple bacon, they all hit the spot.
I should clarify that this is my favorite traditional donut. My favorite donut comes from a place near me that specializes in artisan donuts made with a 40 hr sourdough. They fry them to order and decorate them right after. They are soft with a slightly crispy outside, warm, sweet, a lil savory, just amazing… They make a pumpkin pie one during the fall that is literally a culinary experience
Am I the only person who goes to the donut shop and gets sausage rolls and no donuts? I'll get a donut occasionally but I'm savory > sweet 9 times out of 10.
I actually never eat donuts for breakfast (or not anymore, at least). They’re more of a treat/dessert to me
Only sweet breakfast I eat is my morning bowl of oatmeal which I sweeten with stevia or monk fruit Sometimes I’m down to share pancakes or waffles if I go out to a restaurant for breakfast, but that’s it
2 bacon egg and cheese wake up wraps, an order of hash browns, and a large hot coffee from Dunks for me
Sausage wrapped in dough/puff pastry. Sometimes there's cheese or jalapeños. Pretty ubiquitous at donut shops here in Texas. People call them kolaches sometimes but that's actually a different thing.
Haha interesting. Never thought it was unhealthy aside from the amount of cream or sugar you put in it
