I feel like I’ve never heard anyone talk about these before and now suddenly, this season, they’re getting massive hype? I’m seeing people praise them left and right. I’ve also been seeing a lot of Instagram recipe videos involving them too… What happened?
Whattt really? They were a childhood staple in my house lol. There never were enough, they'd last a day or two They're nice and soft, too
yeah idk I just saw that Aldi was slinging them now but they’ve been around forever. Definitely a nostalgia thing
I'm 0 for 2 on dinner this week. Defrosted the salmon wrong on Monday then waaaay over salted the pasta last night. It looked good though.
You're ahead of me, I didn't defrost anything today and we're supposed to get a foot of snow between now and this time tomorrow so I'm praying I can get to Walmart after work
First time I made this I fucked it up (didn't gradually stir back in retained starch water, making it too dry. Also used too much lemon, not enough garlic), I just made it again and did it the correct way, and goddamn this might be one of the best things I have ever made. Going on the regular rotation for sure. 1lb of linguini cooked to al dente Retain 2 cups of pasta water Strain linguini and put aside Put pot to low-medium Melt 8 tablespoon (1 stick) of unsalted butter with 5-7 minced garlic cloves Once melted add in a bit of black pepper then add in zest of 1 whole lemon put pot on medium high Add back in linguini with 1 cup of the retained pasta water while thoroughly tossing Gradually keep adding back the other cup of pasta water 1 tablespoon at a time while continuing to toss Turn pot off Add in the lemon juice from zested lemon, parm, parsley, salt+pepper, and red pepper flakes and stir in
Day 8 - Lemon, Elderflower - Did not like this one very much, kind of just artificial tasting all around, bad lemon flavor and the elderflower isn't doing much 4.5/10 Day 9 - Rhubarb Spice - Again not the punch you want from rhubarb, light muddy flavors, not unpleasant, but not a lot going on 5/10 Day 10 - Raspberry, Rose - Love this combo, you want to go light with rose, but I thought this could use a little more, nice bright, strong raspberry flavor with a texture 7.5/10 Fiancé got some scones so next round will be on those.
Rugelach is so damn good. I will not stop eating them if they're around. My aunt makes some bomb ones, I think learning was prerequisite for marrying into a Jewish family.
Not Jewish but have been wanting to try making Kugel because it is kinda simple and I want to see what dessert pasta tastes like
it's honestly fucked up how good Jingle Jangle is. I'm not even a big fan of chocolate but I could eat an entire tin of this easily
