in all my years of living Ive never heard of people giving out apples, raisins, granola bars, or popcorn balls on halloween. What a world.
I just remember the stupid rumors that people were giving out apples with razor blades inside when I was a kid haha
I loved going to my rich friend's neighborhood for trick or treating and getting king size candy bars everywhere
A customer at the bookstore I work at bought a ton of books to hand out to trick or treaters and NGL I would've loved that as a kid. It's not like I had a shortage of candy so getting something different and random at one house wouldn't bother me. I prob would've enjoyed an apple too lol
If you handed out anything that wasn't candy in my hometown, it was almost a guarantee your house is getting egged or TP'd.
Worst non-candy Halloween hand-outs: Raisins Best non-candy Halloween hand-outs: individual bags of chips or pretzels, popcorn balls We also had a house that would put out donuts and cider so people could stop and socialize, that was awesome
The worst was when people gave out those awful huggie drinks. They’re gross as fuck and weighed down your candy bag.
Huggies ruled on Halloween, you drank it right away because you were thirsty from walking around all night. I bought them recently and they’re gross and I felt like shit after drinking one
Quite the opposite actually, the little ones only have 1 gram of sugar and 5 calories while the larger size has double that
if this is true (and to be clear: I trust that you’re right about that) then wtf else is in them is my question? I remember never feeling my best after drinking them either
