How many of you continue leaving the water boiling when adding pasta to the pot, vs turning it on low once it boiled?

My mom always taught me to turn it down first so you don't overboil the pasta. I always do this and it always comes out great. My fiance is still convinced you are supposed to keep it boiling the entire time

I crank it the entire time and never have an issue, but I'm often finishing it in the pan with the sauce.

Let the water boil hard cooking pasta, it moves the pasta around for you so you don't have to continuously stir it to prevent sticking

Your fiance is correct. Lowering the heat will only increase cooking time. I keep the heat on my pasta high enough to keep a boil without it overflowing.

Also someone online somewhere mentioned that if you wipe the lip of the pot with oil it will prevent boil-overs and so far it seems to work in my experience

Chik fil a is so mid I genuinely don’t get it. Better fast food chicken for way cheaper

Popeyes is better than chik fil a but chik fil a is always hot and fresh and 75% of the time the Popeyes near me sucks and everything’s been sitting there under the heat lamp forever.

There is a bunch of PDQs near me now but I still haven't tried it. $12 for 3 chicken tenders combo seems too much, even if it comes with waffle fries and garlic toast.
