Fruity rum cocktails are my shit

Also used to regularly get wasted on Sailor Jerry's in college

 

Rum & Coke has been my go to forever.

 

Haven't had one in ages but used to drink them quite a bit. Always my dad's drink of choice

 

Also Rum & Dr Pepper (I call this a Dr. Morgan) and Rum & Arnold Palmer also rule.

 

I’m 99% of the time a beer guy.

 

Love beer, but these days it just makes me feel disgustingly full after like half a pint and I just have to burp like crazy

I just assumed Tampa had a long history of sea pirates just hanging about.

 

Gasparilla is a festival in Tampa centered around a fictional pirate called Jose Gaspar. There are stories about him in the gulf of mexico but there is no proof he existed. They used it to make a Mardi Gras like event in the early 1900s lol.

 

Rum is a little sweet for me most of the time, my go to is whiskey and diet ginger ale or silver tequila and sprite zero, maybe with a splash of orange juice and grenadine

 

Yeah it's Mardi Gras with pirate costumes and pirate ship parade basically. Tampa has been doing every January for over a century. Again It's where the Buccaneer stuff comes from.

Yeah going shot for shot of Sailor Jerry with a guy that has a fake parrot on his shoulder is one of the purest Tampa experiences there is. Grab a Tampa style gas station Cuban or go down to Taco Bus after? Perfect Tampa night right there.
