Diner chain I worked at in high school sold “strawberry short cakes” that were little Sara Lee pound cakes with strawberries and whipped cream on top, anyway I often would go back to the walk-in and eat the pound cakes by themselves
This seems to be a common version of bare minimum "strawberry short cake" because that's the version I see in a lot of restaurants
Boston Market deserves major recognition for making Spinach that is so good that it made a whole generation of kids like Spinach. As a child in the 1990's i feel like I was programmed by cartoons and movies to hate spinach..than I had Boston Market spinach for the first time and i found out everything Nickelodeon told me about spinach was a lie.
I probably didn't come around on spinach until 4 or 5 years ago, I think because I was always thinking of gross wet canned spinach, but baby spinach leaves in a salad or cooked in w/some alfredo, that's good stuff
Jersey Mike's is the only large scale chain hoagie place that I enjoyed. It was the best option I had at Penn State, all the local places stunk.
While I love Popeye and his work spreading the gospel of spinach, that was a boomer cartoon (or older). Anti-spinach propaganda didn’t reach its full height until 1995-2005 I’d say
I don't care for the trunks of broccoli but do enjoy the branches/leaves, especially when slightly charred. I do not like steamed/boiled, though, and that goes for most vegetables
I was about to post "Eggplant is the best vegatable" but then I googled it and found it it's technically a fruit. wtf.
