my roommate works at a beer distributor and every time we drink he has some new weird beer and every time i ask for a sip it tastes the same
Imagining drinking a sour crisp Berliner Weisse brewed with elderberries or some shit and asking " is this a Bud Light?"
I just ordered a Cuban from a sub place and I swear if this thing has got mayo and lettuce on it i'm gonna flip. This is Tampa Bay so you used to not have to worry about that, but nobody has any sense of local culinary tradition anymore
I am ok with the fact it probably won't be legit Cuban Bread, since there is only really one bakery in the entire country that makes it (La Segunda in Ybor), and it's expensive to source but get the other stuff right at least.
Saying all beer and root beer tastes the same is crazy talk. Might as well say all soda tastes the same
I can confirm Cuban bread is very hard to source, but there's a bunch of bakeries out there making Pan Cubano if you search hard enough. I can buy it in Philadelphia. You just need to find the right Cuban bakery. That said, getting a bakery to send you the bread is a totally different story. It's also a fairly easy bread to make on your own, so that's helpful if you're really into Cuban sandwiches.
