It has come to my attention that you freaks outside of Philadelphia do not have Irish Potatoes or Butter Creams in the Spring? Sad!
i fuckin love coconut, those sound heavenly we have needhams here in Maine which are kinda in the same category
The coconut is a necessary evil for me. I do not like the coconut flakes, but I've had them without coconut and they aren't as good.
Buttercreams are really incredible. There was a place called Blasius where my family would go for decades, but they closed down. No other buttercreams matched until I did some research and found out that they sold their recipe to a place in the suburbs. They taste just as good.
Cream cheese is terrible when you can actually taste it as the primary flavor. I love bagels but just cream cheese on it? Yuck. I always prefer a breakfast sandwich or something. I like cheesecake, and I like cream cheese as a component, but just slathered thick on a bagel is meh. The American cheese slander needs to end though right now. Best melting cheese, and therefore the best for a classic burger or grilled cheese. Every now and again I'll do a different type of burger but 9 times out of 10, just American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion is all you need for the perfect bite.
yall are wack, cream cheese is so fucking good. I don't eat bagels with cream cheese. I eat a container of cream cheese with like a little bit of bagel. Also the best dessert frostings are cream cheese ones. deli sliced american > kraft singles all day
Flavored cream cheese is excellent as well. The chive cream cheese from a bagel spot near me is perfect on an everything bagel.
Sourdough menu items are back at Checker's! Just ordered a double Sourdough Patty Melt combo with a side of funnel cake fries
