I feel that. Back in my teens, whenever my friends and I would go on an outing somewhere I would prep by filling up a zip lock bag with chips and candy incase anyone got hungry, like a soccer mom or something.
I keep my cubicle stocked with mini rice krispie treats and those strawberry candies for whoever wants them and I was the popular girl in school for a second but it resulted in a bunch of others being inspired to have candy dishes in their cubicle too and oversaturated the market smh
Also whenever we had a potlock at work instead of cooking something or buying potato salad from the grocery store, I would just go to Walgreen's and get two giant bags of mixed candy The way I figured it was "well everybody likes candy, this will be the people's favorite for sure" and I think my co-workers just thought I was lazy.

I did make oven baked asparagus with bacon fat and a shit ton of garlic for a potluck once, and that shit was a fan favorite. I can't ever see myself putting in that much effort for a work party again though lol

I got tired of buying cases of bottled water 2x a month and finally decided to get a Brita water filter faucet thing
