Since 'tis the season I'm sharing my pumpkin bread recipe I came up with a couple years ago that everyone raves about. We're having a party today for my girlfriend's birthday so I'm making a special batch (wink wink). Pumpkin Bread Recipe 2 c. all-purpose flour 2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 2 tsp. Fresh crushed or grated ginger (Dorot brand in the freezer section of the store works best) 1 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted and browned 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1 c. pumpkin puree 1/4 c. sour cream 2 large eggs 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract Brown Sugar and Turbinado Sugar for sprinkling Pepitas for sprinkling Preheat oven to 350°. Butter an 8“-x-4” loaf pan and line with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt. Brown butter over medium-low heat swirling continuously. Let cool before adding to wet ingredients. In a separate large bowl using a hand mixer, beat melted butter, sugar, pumpkin puree, sour cream, eggs, vanilla and ginger (if using frozen, let soften before adding), until incorporated. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined. Transfer batter to prepared pan. Make a mixture of brown sugar, turbinado sugar and a dash of vanilla extract. Sprinkle mixture liberally on top of batter. Sprinkle Pepitas on top of batter. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, about 50 minutes to 1 hour.
I got Crazy Bread from Little Caesars and they didn't give me any crazy sauce. They expect me to eat this dry? Now that is crazy.
I also got that Calzoney thing from Little Caesars. Its alright, but its not even close to being similar to a Calzone at all. They should have called it something else. As a Calzone liker I was disappointed.
