Mine's actually improved significantly, but probably because I don't drink as much and eat better, and drink a shit ton of kombucha.
I’ve been getting Chongquing chicken at this local place and it’s so good but it’s one of the spiciest things I’ve ever eaten. Only by the third time getting it did I learn you’re not supposed to eat all the diced up peppers with it. That was the first time spicy stuff actually hurt my stomach. Virtually everything I eat is spicy, I’m dreading the day I can’t anymore
Same. GERD sucks. And I haven't seen my gastro in 10 years after being told it was moderate to severe. Oops.
I’m actually on a prescription antacid, I haven’t had heartburn in years. But I’m gona try to get off of it, I feel like it’s not something you should be in long term?
Same. One time I got really sick and it basically burned a whole in my stomach and have been taking that ever since. Well they started me on Zantac and that shit did not work, if i didn't take it daily I'd be dying. I don't know if you should be taking them forever, but you definitely need to be taking calcium and vitamin D with it.
I’m also on Protonix haha. Been like 3 years? I thought I looked into it and it said it’s not a long term thing but guess I was wrong
I.have pick my food based on the day. I don't work tomorrow so I can risk eating like shit and feeling it tomorrow if I want.
the sad truth is that the older we get (assuming we still use this site) we will have ever more prescriptions to share and dietary restrictions that preclude us from the foods we enjoy ain’t getting older grand
Honestly the only thing that fucks me up is sugar. If I drink like a real sweet tea or fruit punch I’ll feel like shit/maybe puke.
I take omeprazole or whatever too. You’re not supposed to be on it long term but everything fucks up my stomach if I don’t take it.
I find drinking a lot of water right after a large meal or right when I feel a flare up is coming helps a lot, if I wait too long and the flare up is in fell effect water doesn't help then. Also I find a bit of raw Ginger can help too, but too much Ginger can make your stomach too acidic and make it worse. Also if you are in the midst of a flare up but are hungry,.dry whole wheat toast slightly burnt is good for your stomach. The blackened bits contain charcoal which has been found to absorb stomach gas, while the bread soaks up and absorb the excess acid.
Also another home remedy that is like insanely effective. Toothache? Chew on fresh garlic cloves, let the garlic juices sit around the effected tooth for a couple minutes (wait until your eyes water and your teeth feel almost tingly ), works 100 times better than any Orajel or anything like that. It can actually make a toothache go away for days or sometimes weeks. Garlic contains high amounts of a compound called Allicin, which early research shows has high antibacterial qualities. It is so corrosive that it kills everything in your mouth, including skin cells if you use it too much. Dentists only recommend using Garlic as a temporary stopgap though, because it only delays the infection that is making the pain worse and doesn't solve the underlying issue causing the toothache. It is just effective enough where it can give you the illusion you cured your tooth problem on your own, until it comes back. They are currently developing drugs based on Garlic compounds to treat antibiotic resistant bacteria strains.
Apples always work for me if I don't have any medicine. The best thing for immediate relief is a little baking soda in water, way better than Tums or anything like that.
Eating crackers or something very dry always helps me if I don’t take Zegerid. Drinking those activia things regularly helps me too. I started on butter, then I moved to mayo, but now I’m back to butter.
I did an elimination diet and found out that broccoli of all things is a huge trigger for me. Red wine too, and sugar as well. If I can stay away from those I am usually good. Had a lot of digestive issues anytime I took an antacid or PPI.
Red meat has been my biggest trigger. Also the oil they use in some processed packaged frozen foods too, like one of the worst stomach aches I have had in awhile came from frozen fish sticks.
