Not a sweet potato guy but I once had a hash thing that had like a 3:2 ratio of potatoes to sweet potatoes fried with salt and pepper and it was absolutely killer
I've never heard of this concoction, but as a grandchild of a french canadian, this absolutely tracks My grandmother was obsessed with Pepsi. At her wake, we had a little table of things that reminded us of her and there was a 2 liter on it haha.
Got into a rabbithole of looking up popular regional street/fast/drunk foods from around the world. There is a few that I am shocked haven't become big in the US yet. Chorrillanas from Chile/Peru. It is french fries with eggs (either scrambled or fried), fried onions, and a choices of protein (usually beef and/or Chorizo). It is similar to Poutine, except eggs instead of gravy. Spice Bag from Ireland. Came from Irish Chinese take out spots. It is French fries with chili seasoning, chicken, onions, bell peppers, chilli peppers, served with a side of curry sauce. Essentially it's fries cooked with all the common Chinese takeout ingredients. Why every Chinese takeout spot in the US hasn't started doing this yet is beyond me. Currywurst. The single most popular street food in Germany. Fried pork sausage, sliced ,smothered with ketchup mixed with curry powder, served with a side of fries.
Watching a BBQ competition on Food Network and I...I think I may prefer beef ribs to pork ribs? Love and respect all ribs, this is the first time I've really thought about it and it may be influenced by how I cook, but...yeah. Love a beef rib.
