My (un)controversial opinion is that as long as you spell it donut we’re cool but if you use doughnut you’re a cop
Shitty fast food donuts (Dunkin or Honey Dew) I get the hate 100% but a fresh made donut from a local joint is an s tier pastry. Maybe I'm just biased since I have a pretty high density of insanely good donut shops near me. Don't even get me started on cider donuts.
Apple cider donuts from a farm in the fall are the best. But generally I feel like portland has an overrated donut scene
I'm here for the chocolate doughnut and cake donut hate. Cider donuts can be great, but they have to be made with a yeasted dough. Cake doughnuts shouldn't even be allowed.
There's a donut food cart that comes to the farmers market called granny's donuts and they are soooo good but I never hear anyone talk about them cause they don't have unusual novelty flavors like the other places around here but they put the donuts on these hook things and the glaze just drips off and theyre fresh and it's amazing. They typically just have glazed and Mexican donuts but sometimes they have a specialty flavor which is also delish
I don’t know the difference in donut types, but the only kind I like have a sort of crispy outside crust and Krispy Kreme legit sucks
