Yep. Acidity and fat content. The acid makes for a more tender crumb and the fat content keeps it moist.
Come on y'all, you gotta have sour cream in quick breads. Banana bread, pumpkin bread, zucchini bread etc.
If sour is the cream you've seen, then your bowl it must be clean. If the cream has been whipped, then it mustn't go near your lips. Just in case you forget, I made this mnemonic device.
I’m going grocery shopping today and I thought I'd ask you all what I should get in addition to my normal staples so what’s one or two things you never leave the grocery store without buying that’s not your typical items like bread or eggs or whatever. something I may be overlooking that you can’t do without
Apples or some kind of fruit Peanut butter(maybe not every time, but we go through a jar pretty fast)
am I getting trolled? I always buy peanut butter and apples are a good one I’ll say was planning on picking up kiwi and bananas at least
An absurd amount of fancy cheese that you have no plan for and regret spending money on. A 'cheat' meal (if you cook a lot) like premade made chicken strips or something quick and easy for that inevitable night when you don't want to cook from scratch. A beverage treat for when you get sick of water. Like publix's raspberry lemonade (so good).
This inspired a great thread idea in my head, Chorus Buys Groceries, where one person requests the thread to collaboratively make a (reasonably priced) grocery list, gets things on the list that people post, and reports back with opinions and how they used it
