I miss salad bars but no way in hell I’d eat at one now.

In the 80s the Rajneesh cult here in Oregon purposefully contaminated salad bars to win a local election to gain control and poisoned like over 700 ppl and it's what I always think about when I see a salad bar.

 

Nothing like some good old fashioned bioterrorism. One of my favorite random facts learned as an Oregonian

 

ranch has been maligned for so long now that I kind of can’t help but view it as underrated

 

I feel like a lot of people have only tried Hidden Valley which I personally think is garbage tier ranch and I always avoid it. If you want the good stuff, Cindy's Kitchen is the goat of all store bought ranch. I'll go with Ken's Buttermilk if I can't find Cindy's though.

 

Agreed. A lot of what Ken does is the best.

 

Store bought can never really reach the heights of the watery kind you get from diners and fast casual restaurants.

 

The word watery only makes it worse

Is a gyro still a gyro if you make it with some pan-fried ground meat? I'm thinking about it. Seems kind of easy and delicious. I've been craving one for weeks.

I've made one like this from one of those delivery meal kits, just cooked it as one thin patty then sliced into strips, it was decent

I'm thinking I won't even form the ground meat into a patty. Just brown it really well and put it directly in the pita bread with everything else
