Ok if you had to pick one fast food conglomerate: Yum! Brands ( KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut) or Restaurant Brands International ( Burger King, Popeyes, Firehouse, Tim Hortons) ?
Haven't been to Wendy's in a long itme but I think they fucked up their fries with that Guaranteed Hot and Crispy shit. On the other hand, BK is back
McDonald's Arby's (Curly) BK Honorable Mention: KFC (the secret recipe fries are good, but they will never replace the potato wedges)
Subway was fine when it was cheap and convenient, and I do not find it either of those things anymore. Jersey mikes is my favorite but it's hella $$ (like $14 with chips and I always tip at my local, as they're so damn nice). I used to really like Publix (southern grocery chain) subs, but now I find them just kind of awkwardly put together and hard to eat and get an even bite. Jimmy Johns are skinny little things but they're alright in a pinch and still relatively cheap. Quiznos I hated as I don't like toasted sandwiches. I now dislike wichwich for that reason as the only option is toasted. I don't want my sandwich toasted but apparently them's the rules so I just don't go any more. Am I missing anywhere super popular to give my take on? As an aside, a club sandwich (with the three pieces of bread - and toasted is absolutely fine in this one scenario) made traditionally (ham/turkey/bacon/lettuce/tomato/mayo) is one of my king foods and will always hit the spot if made to spec. Give me that and a bag of plain lays and that's a fine lunch that's hard to beat.
Wendy's fries have a lovely snap (though not as good as the older recipe) and just the right amount of salt. Burger King fries are a great cut and have an interesting mealiness to them. Only Wendy's fries taste good with ketchup, but they're both better without it. BK fries impressively compliment an Impossible Whopper, but both work well as a standalone item. I think they're a tie for me. Culver's isn't a top 2 choice, but they have an excellent degree of sogginess and taste almost as good when they're not hot anymore as they do fresh. 1. Burger King 1. Wendy's 3. Culver's
Subway is getting too expensive but they almost always have BOGO on the app, and I get coupons in the mail constantly. The Subway closest to me stopped accepting coupons though, and I haven’t even seen a car in their parking lot since. There’s a million other subways to go to
