lol. They're my favorite but a lot of work. Very thinly sliced potatoes dipped in cream (and seasoned with butter, thyme, S&P, etc.) and then layered and baked in a dish, typically a loaf pan. You press the potatoes (still in the loaf pan) overnight with some heavy objects in the fridge and then the next day you can slice the "brick" of potatoes and fry them up in a skillet so they're crispy on the edges and like a potato puree in the middle.
It's absolutely worth it. The first time I did it, I was extremely careful about evenly layering the potatoes, but if you use a mandolin and try to keep it pretty even, it's really not that bad. The second time I made them, I did it in about half the time. The layers don't have to be perfect, in fact it's better when they're not.
Where my parents are from they call them Mormon potatoes even though funerals are the main venue you see them in. Bomb regardless what you call them

Literally had their pizza for the first time in ages last night. Pan crust with buffalo base, chicken, and onions. Still pretty good!
