I mean, I did learn in school that shellfish are pretty much giant undersea bugs, but people also eat crickets so I think as long as it’s prepared in a way that tastes good it’s fair game. No worse that eating, I don’t know, testicles, brains, etc of mammals
When I was younger I used to especially enjoy salmon and bluegill. I thought most crustaceans were decent, with shrimp being my favourite. Never tried caviar or oysters even though I wanted to.
I am from Florida so obviously we had tons of early bird family style restaurants that seniors love which I kind of consider the same as diners, there is no real difference beyond aesthetics. Those are also kind of going the way of the Dodo bird too.
This may sound a bit gatekeeper-y, but I’m of the opinion that if someone plans cheat days, they're not vegan/ vegetarian; they just eat that way most of the time (which is still a hugely positive action) People have asked me before if I do cheat days, and I feel if I were to do that, I wouldn’t have any business claiming to be something I’m not What may help for some newer vegans/ vegetarians who feel tempted to eat something that isn’t, is knowing that after a while, you won't really see that stuff as food anymore
thank you for answering. I deleted it because it felt myopic and dismissive of the lifestyle and that wasn't my intent. your answer is about what I thought tho
No worries! I’ve been vegan for almost 14 years and was frequently involved in animal rights activism for about six of them. If you ever have any questions, feel free to pm me and AMA
veggie people w cheat days are commonly called flexitarians lol. for the record though i dont think most of us necessarily have a problem w it, any time people reduce their animal product consumption at all is a net positive imo
Watched a food video on YouTube the other day where the guy cooked lobsters and it really bummed me out
that's what the guy in the video did, put them in the freezer for a bit and then stabbed them. Still hate it!
My grandpa used to always want to meet me for lunch at the hospital to get food lol they legit had good food. My sister got a job in their cafeteria for a while and I'd take my nephew up there to eat and see her while she was on shift too
