Time to cast my first vote for The Lottery, I guess.

 

Really? Easily the best on the album imo.

Its funny if it wins we'll be 3/4 so far for my favs. In the Morning is probs top 5 for OLG too so we're doing well.

Blood is good but not really a standout to me.

 

I think it's a good song, but I don't recall seeing much love for it on these forums when talking about Violent Waves.

 

Blood is definitely in the bottom half of the album for me. Dont feel much for it.

 

this albums hard to rank for me - there’s moments or parts of songs that I like a lot but then generally the rest of that same track won’t do much or anything for me. My Only Friend is a perfect example, those verses go hard.

 

listening now, Sharp Practice may be as big a banger type single as Get Out

Really love this song and think it’s unique for them. Anthony sounds so powerful when he sings “Take youuuuu” at the end of the chorus.

listening to Descensus now, have given it a few listens over the last few weeks since starting this, pretty much feeling the same as with this album, a handful of good songs but nothing memorable enough to make me want to come back to the album outside of a bracket challenge. Would imagine two of Schema, Child of the Desert, and Descensus end up in the final two.

Descensus is probably my least favourite on that album, feels way too long for no good reason. I think Phantom is my fav on there.

 

You guys are crazy. Descensus rules. An album full of absolute bangers. Schema is probably their weakest opener though.

 

Schema and Desert are some of their most boring heavy tracks. Album is still pretty good in spite of those, not because of them. Only the Sun to Sovereign stretch is all quality.

 

I've been listening to Descensus a lot in preparation of it showing up, and the album is really revealing itself through repeated listens that I never gave it at release. Quiet Down and Always Begin are really doing it for me right now - although I do think my previous favorites of Schema, Nesting Dolls, and Descensus are still at the top. Looking forward to doing the same to The Amulet, I never dove into it like it deserves.

 

I love Schema. And Nesting Dolls is an all-timer.
