i don't really have a dog in this race - there's no runaway song for me on this album. A bunch of pretty decent songs, but this is my 2nd least favorite album of theirs.

 

dammit you're right, I remember checking that out now and it seemed like a light makeover at best. It almost needs an audiophile release where they're not even trying to faithful to the spirit of the original.

I'm a monkey with Audacity and no training just mixing down raw stems, so I have to think someone who knows their shit could nail it with some tasteful drum compression, EQ, and attention to detail. Even this demoish vibe is way better to me though, esp vocally.

Man I honestly kind of forgot that I actually kind of love this album. I was thinking I didn't know it that well but I listened to it last night and realized I was very wrong. I kind of struggled to vote against Phantasmagoria cus I really do think that's an awesome song.
