Also, for the record...I don't disagree that it sucks to have some of these matchups taking place in the first round. There's really not much that can be done about that when we're using a bracket generator to make the random brackets.

I guess the best way to do it would be to go through a ranking process where we'd compile everyone's rankings and then seed the songs...but I'm not super interested in that amount of effort if I'm being honest!

All in all, this process should end up producing the accurate winner for each album, but the runners-up for each album (and the wild card bracket in general) isn't an accurate representation.

I don't think there's a big issue with randomness front-loading some tougher choices. Any bracket system without some weighted seeding method has this trait.

 

i mean to be fair with a band that has as many slappers per album as them you're gonna be hard pressed to not find some heartbreaking matches in early rounds.

 

Yeah their discog is too consistent, this method is fine.
