Ah yeah I feel you. He has actually said basically that this isn’t really a focused vision, more so a collection of hits that just make you want to have fun. There are few artists I can see being able to pull something like that off, and Thug is most definitely one of them for me. But this is his push into the mainstream, he is just trying to reach a bigger audience and it shows. More tracks, in theory, equal more streams, and all of these supposed features are pretty popular artists in their own rite outside of Duke and Lil Keed. I do get what you mean though but I don’t think the finished product will seem scrapped together by any means. He has been working on this for a while.
Haha I mean fair point but his solo full length projects are of a much higher quality than all of those projects, except for Super Slimey and Young Martha. Slime Language was a YSL compilation, Hear No Evil was only three songs, and On The Run was thrown together with some of his most recently recorded songs following legal trouble.
so there’s a track featuring Lil Baby, a track called Lil Baby that isn’t featuring Lil Baby and there’s a track simply titled Pussy I’m in
First listen and this mostly wasn't the style of Thug I was hoping for aside from a few songs but obviously will give it a few more tries
Knee-jerk reaction is that this isn’t great, unfortunately. It’s mostly decent with a few immediate standouts (What’s The Move, Cartier Gucci Scarf) but the length is really working against it. Too bad.
gonna be so hard for me to pick a favorite song I love Surf, Jumped Out the Window, Cartier Gucci Scarf, Sup Mate, I’m Scared, Mannequin Challenge, Hot so good
Can’t wait to hear the Uzi track. Will also agree I was hoping for a more concise/shorter album, but this is also his first real tape in a while.
A few tracks in and this is way less exciting than I expected... not a good sign. Still keeping my hopes up though.
Gonna try to to hold out until I get off of work so I can listen to this properly with a blunt and loud speakers.
This DEFINITELY picks up in the middle. I still think I preferred the production style of his older stuff though, felt more dense and multi-layered if that makes sense. I definitely hear J Cole's influence which I realize other people may be into. Cartier Gucci Scarf is insanely good.
Hard to believe that out of all the songs Future and Thug supposedly made this is the one that made his album...on listen two hoping it catches on better but kind of worried he will never come close to his last two official tapes again
