High song of the year confirmed

 

These songs are pretty boring to me

 

like this more than Slime Language

 

High is one of the best songs he's ever made and the song with Jaden is great. The rest will rapidly grow on me I'm sure

 

High is really special.

Loving the chorus of Climax too.

 

Immediately like this a lot more than Slime Language, which I haven't gone back to since it came out. High is an all time Thug song.

 

Real in My Veins is a cool song

 

I've only listened to On the Rvn once through, but I think Slime Language is much better personally. Most of these tracks are good, but they don't really stand out much. Aside from High... which is fantastic.

 

Really great on my first listen, but ended too soon. I replayed it right away.

Y'all are right about High, also Real In My Veins is cool. I liked what Thug was doing with his voice on Sin.

 

Omg that hook on Climax is fucking incredible

Yeah it leaked like a month ago, not officially released until now tho

 

i almost wish i hadnt listened then because i was tracking reactions then listened myself and was like wait....ive heard this...

 

Yuuup, agreed, it would’ve been amazing to just see that a track featured Elton John and then listened to it without any prior knowledge of the song. Still glad it got an official release though, seeing as it seems to have been recorded way earlier than everything else on here.

 

As much as I love every new release he puts out, I can’t help but think each time that maybe he’s peaked already. From Super Slimey to this project, nothing reaches the heights of Jeffery or BTT. It may be silly, since he hasn’t really put out a cohesive project of that nature since BTT. He’s still (one of) the most exciting artists working right now, but I’m really craving the more out there experimentation of those two projects.

Or maybe he still is pushing in the same ways but it’s become the normal for him and I’m just being pushy with wanting him to drift more and more away from the trap sounds.

 

jeffery is only two years old and BTT is only a year old so i wouldnt be too worried if i were you



however, for me nothing has touched tha tour pt 1 and i doubt anything ever will

 

That’s definitely something I was considering when I wrote that. I think expectations have been warped in this era of extreme amounts of output.

Though I’ll never complain a out him putting out so much material, especially when the quality doesn’t *really* dip.

 

yeah at first i was agreeing then i was like wait, has he even attempted to put out a full cohesive project like that since BTG? super slimey seemed like an obvious throw away collab, the carnage collab just seemed like a fun low stakes thing, and slime language turned out to be just a comp for his crew or w.e. on the run is probably more comparable to jeffery but even still it seems like a quick thing that was put together just to keep his name out there (not that this is a bad thing). i think we're still gonna have to wait for the proper BTG follow up

 

He did mention not wanting to put out music this year. It seems he's modified that to mean not release any albums/full mixtapes this year. I do expect something big in 2019 from Thug.

 

Maybe because I just love Thug and Future, but I love Super Slimey and think it's the best thing he's done post BTT.
