Interesting, I know you said they were playing mostly newer stuff before which bums me out a bit. Makes the choice between them and animal flag a lil bit harder (though I'm still hoping to make both shows)

 

it honestly might have been just because it was (sort of) a hometown show and most of the people there had seen them many times before. i'm sure they'll bust out Oranges, Brothers, and/or Holy Ghost (especially if you ask beforehand), wouldn't bet on any others tho

also their live presence is incredible. might just be bc i don't see many bands that improvise live, but the way they jam out / create these chaotic yet melodic moments is entrancing. all of the people are so talented as musicians and their drummer is one of the best drummers i've ever seen. def would not miss

 

Yeah I saw that live video a while back that was great. Bummed I'll miss pope to see Animal flag but they were just sooooo good
