as fucking awesome as they are, seems like they’re pretty universally regarded as exploratory and subsequently inaccessible, not super surprising they haven’t gotten on more peoples’ radar quite yet

I, personally, find Phish insufferably boring and meandering.

This band is not that.

 

Phish is probably one of the most inventive and exciting live bands ever. Bummer you feel that way.

 

I do wish I had the lyrics to this. from what I can parse they are just as dense as the music itself

guys I jokingly wanted to refer to YJ as a jam band, let's not debate the merits of Phish in a thread about a band that is way better than them!!!

 

The probably isn't needed here, ha. Without things like the Clifford Ball, we might not have modern festival culture. What other band can do 13 nights at Madison Square Garden and play 237 unique songs? It's unprecedented how they've been raising the bar decade after decade.

Not trying to derail by the way because this album is really great.

just got off the phone with John ! i don’t do a lot of interviews because i don’t think i’m a great conversationalist but that was the most enjoyable one i’ve done. stoked to write it up and share it!!!

 

How the fuck did I only just now discover this band exists? This is my shit x10. Reminds me of Dismemberment Plan kind of. But heavier

 

hell yeah I was wondering when this was gonna go up. super excited to read this

 

Still haven’t listened but this is sick and has me even more excited.
