SNS was a good album but ever since each release has been duller and duller. The two new songs they've released for this new album the dullest yet.
They did like six shows in America for the last album. Doesn't seem like this one will be any more popular. What a strange career.
I mean... when you sell out massive arenas in your home country why would you fly across the ocean to play shows 10x smaller?
I'm sure their intention is to eventually be a worldwide band... no one wants to tour the UK forever, it's tiny. My thinking would be that they didn't intentionally avoid the US on the last album cycle, it just did very poorly over there and their market would have dwindled massively in the three years since Cavalier Youth (an album for which they did 2 headline tours in the States).
What's strange, is that the previous album was probably still their biggest success to date, despite that fact - I was quite surprised seeing the stats.
