I wonder if she will turn up again at some point. Seems likely. after hearing what she said it made the whole scene even more ridiculous and hard to believe.
I feel this season is going heavier on the Beth material than any season previously, and it's getting annoying. They're really leaning into her "I don't give a fuck" attitude, to the detriment of her getting any meaningful depth. I'm guessing the female fans of the show really resonate with her, but her shtick is getting overdone. Rest of the episode was pretty good though (especially the calving day montage, backed by the Zach Bryan song).
I don’t remember John being as unlikable as much as he is now either. The Beth vs Jamie stuff is getting pretty tiring.
Yeah his whole "How does government work....ahh fuck you all, you're fired" like it's no big deal. Ugh, sigh.....
Like why is he getting mad that people are coming up with policies when he only has one policy himself. Does he really think that shutting down the airport was the only policy he’d need to have and the rest of the policies would just make themselves?
The Beth Jamie stuff has literally been the exact same all along and I don’t think that’s a good thing this far along into a shows lifespan.
I'm caught up on Yellowstone and I enjoy it but I just started 1883 and I'm liking it so much more than Yellowstone.
I’m starting to feel like you can’t take this show that seriously anymore. The Beth and Summer stuff was as goofy as it gets. it used to be the bunkhouse crew that provided the needed lighthearted “comic relief” aspect. Seems like things might turn next episode. The season is at that point.
I just hate how Beth can never be one upped. Summer supposedly had 9 years of BJJ. Beth has been sheltered and never had to fight in real life besides with words or setting people up. Summers been to prison! Beth says she grew up with 3 brothers, so now she considers Jamie a brother? And it’s not like they fought her
(Haven't seen the most recent episode but) I also hate how she's pretty much untouchable. If nothing else, it just makes me quit paying attention every time they go into a new plot with her. She starts shit with everyone she comes across and no one does anything and she has no consequences. Shit all over Jamie every chance you get and threaten his livelihood and his kid? Nah he doesn't do anything even though he's killed multiple other people. Start a fight in a random bar? Nah, no consequences because the woman said something (in a CUT scene) that apparently completely justified hitting her in the head with a bottle. Walk into Market Equities and fire everyone for no reason? Nah, no one bats an eye and then acts baffled when she proceeds to screw them over. Get blown up by a bomb? Nah, just one scar on her face. I just zone out half the time now because none of this stuff has long-term consequences anyway.
Yeah the Beth stuff has gotten quite annoying these last few episodes, especially the most recent one. However, it seems like the beef between her and Summer might finally be over, so the Bethcapades might get toned down the rest of the season. And sometimes this show really does show some moments of real beauty, like the very end of this episode, with the whole crew gearing, and the crew riding off into the morning, while Aubrie Sellers and "Far From Home" played. But yeah, looks like some shit might really go down, and based on certain things I'm seeing, and have heard discussed in some Yellowstone podcasts, is that this might be the final season, and end up with the family selling or transferring the land, to most likely Chief Rainwater and the local Indian tribe.
The entire show is completely off the rails at this point. He becomes the governor and fires everyone and then fucks off into the mountains?
Feels like Sheridan has turned his focus to the prequel series, as will I lol. Looking forward to 1923 but yeah Yellowstone is fully off the rails
The countless dropped plotlines are basically too much for me to even enjoy the show anymore. I get that a lot of times they try to maintain the status quo, but these meaningless plot threads don’t work in a serialized show. It’s okay if you introduce and solve an issue within the same episode. What they do is like The Walking Dead - end on a cliffhanger so you’ll tune in next week, only for it to be inconsequential in future episodes. For instance, I don’t care if Beth gets in a bar fight and gets arrested because I know it’s not going to go anywhere interesting next week. Next episode for no real reason, she’s free. So why do we even need to waste time on this?
