I do not have high hopes for this season after how much of a mess the last couple have been....................but I'll still watch the entire thing.
This show is like Fast and Furious but with cowboys. It makes absolutely zero sense but it’s a whole lot of fun.
Exactly. Something I also like about this show is that it’s actually attracted an older demographic as well. Crowds like my dad and my grandpa’s generations who grew up watching westerns, they love this show. I always have to remind myself that people like that aren’t dissecting every dropped plot line like I am and are just enjoying the ride.
Yeah honestly my parents never shut up about it and that’s what got me watching. Plus some people from work
Yeah my Dad has watched every season multiple times; like last night while vacationing in Florida my parents visited some Texas-themed steak restaurant and my Dad joked wondering if he'd see Beth and Rip there, or Jimmy working the kitchen, lolol
As someone who has watched the same storyline regurgitated on The Walking Dead for 11 seasons, this is getting hard to swallow.
I quite enjoyed the first two episodes of this season; with John now as Governor that will open up a whole new set of challenges and storylines, and it will be interesting to see how the Market Equities storyline will play out. I think eventually the Dutton ranch will fall under the control of Chief Rainwater/the local tribe (they hinted at this in the 2nd episode when John decided to put the ranch in a conservation easement or whatever). I'm guessing there's a threat that the shooting of the collared-wolves could lead to issues for John himself as governor
Yeah her character is the one that is most over the top, especially when it comes to dialogue, but it seems like female audiences absolutely love her character, so yeah.
I swear the writers must have some sort of "Beth Dutton Dialogue Generator" that they use. Any time she speaks, it's some unnecessarily long, vague rant before slugging down a drink and then shouting an insult as she walks away. It's down to a formula at this point.
"Yellowstone wrangled up a ratings record for its fifth season premiere. The Paramount Network drama delivered a cumulative viewership of 12.1m live-plus-same-day viewers, the biggest overnight launch yet for the neo-Western. According to Samba TV, the ratings make Yellowstone the top scripted series premiere of 2022" https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/yellowstone-season-5-premiere-ratings-1235261644/
Man these first 2 episodes were a chore to get through. The first episode ends in the hospital after the crash but then they have to have a long drawn out scene of the crash at the start of the second episode. Blah. Why do I keep watching this show?
Not a great start to the season. I don’t understand the need to constantly crush Kayce’s character. The storytelling for it seemed really clunky and hard to buy into. Disappointing… Just not loving the heavy handed political stuff either.
I think her rejecting the guy in the bar was literally a formulaic call back to a last scene where she said and did the same thing.
It doesn’t really register as a callback when she basically says and does the same things over and over. Haha. It’s more like Flanderization at that point. With the political stuff - I feel like it would have more impact and seem more important of everything weren’t so easy for the Dutton’s… I feel like they just assign people to powerful political positions because they already control everything. It’s so overly simplified. That’s why there was no big campaign arc for John becoming governor. Why bother when you know he will just say “eh alright, guess I’ll do it” and waltz into power lol.
And where the fuck does Beth get the money for a new Bentley....wonder if its her Market Equities money?
Beth is a cartoon character at this point. the bar scene and hitting that girl with the bottle come on…. Haha
