Yeah I'm guessing the actress wanted to be done with the Yellowstone universe, plus producers/Sheridan wanting a story that allowed Kaycee to go crazy in his marshal role, which Monica would totally not be cool with.

Just finished watching the first episode of Marshalls or in the UK it's called Marshalls : A Yellowstone Story.. anyways fucking hell it was fast paced and action packed!
Was watching episode 2 of Marshals the other day and 2 episodes in and it's way more action packed than I thought it would be, I am enjoying this spin off so far
Yeah that's what I told my other family members who were hoping for something more along Yellowstone pace....I was like NOPE. I think the Rip and Beth spinoff will be exactly that.
Yeah that will probably be more balanced like Yellowstone. 80% easy watching political drama, 20% Rip doing some Rippin’
about to watch ep. 2! I got the feeling last episode that Tate would annoy me so hopefully that changes lol
Its kinda whatever at this point; not a fan of how every little micro story/adventure is resolved so quickly. Also, burn a dozen motorcycles to the ground with no repercussions? Ok, I guess, haha. Brecken Merrill as "Tate" has 0% acting ability. Miles' character is pretty stiff with his acting as well.
