    Question:
“In the show Yellowstone, it is shown that the character of Rip was taken in by the Dutton family as a kid, as being presumed dead. Surely this means he doesn’t have a social security card, and therefore no ID or bank account. Is this correct?”

    Answer:
“In Yellowstone, Rip Wheeler’s background indeed suggests complications with legal documentation like a Social Security card or ID. After killing his abusive father in self-defense as a teenager, Rip was taken in by John Dutton, and it’s implied that the incident and Rip’s presumed “death” allowed him to vanish from the system. This means he likely did not retain legal documentation like a birth certificate or Social Security card, which are required to obtain government-issued identification or open a bank account.

The show does not explicitly address how Rip manages such legalities in adulthood. However, several scenarios could explain his circumstances:

    1. Under-the-Table Employment: Rip works exclusively for the Dutton family on the Yellowstone ranch. It’s possible he is paid off the books, avoiding the need for documentation.

    2. Fictional Liberty: The show might bypass the real-world consequences of Rip’s undocumented status to focus on his loyalty and role within the Dutton family.

    3. Identity Arrangement: It’s also conceivable, though not mentioned in the series, that John Dutton could have arranged false documentation for Rip, given his influence and the secrecy surrounding some of the ranch’s activities.

Rip’s lack of official identity aligns with his role as a fiercely loyal enforcer and outsider, living on the fringes of legality to protect the Dutton legacy.”

As soon as she was on the phone and I saw a car pull up in the background I knew it was over lol. Definitely wasn't expecting her to meet her end that way so it was a surprise for sure!

I caught up on the latest episode, 1. That's one hell of ending to the episode and 2. Taylor Sheridan really hates Kevin Costner!!

With two episodes remaining, I feel like that was unnecessary. I don’t see how it would add the to remaining plot. And it took up most of the plot, the only thing of importance was Jamie’s scene

I know we have The Madison as a Yellowstone spinoff coming up but I'm super curious if we see Beth and RIp Yellowstone S6/spinoff.

Crazy how they're supposedly wrapping up this whole thing in only two more episodes

Does anyone know the "deal" Kayce made with the guy at the end? I was kind of confused by that.

This absolutely needs to happen. Also looking forward to 1923 season 2.

I believe its more being a verbal agreement, to not go after any other Dutton, as Kayce knows everything about the guy/hitman leader, so can strike back at any time.

I'm guessing season 2 of that is probably a fall 2025 thing

Fuck yesssss. I knew it had to be SOON with them deciding to stream the entirety of the first season on cable, they wanted to get the show back in people's minds.

INTERESTING that they didn't announce next week as the "series finale" and rather called it "season finale". I've seen plenty of shows that bill a series finale as just that as it's quite an event, and it sure would be THE event for a show as this.

Still don’t see this wrapping up with one episode left

I would not be shocked if they did the series finale as a standalone film so that they can stream it on Paramount+

Just make it a movie and add a hyphen. A movie titled "Yellowstone: whatever" and it is a loophole around Universal's streaming rights. Paramount did the same thing with South Park.

Rip's dialog about the bar fight is probably the longest continuous dialog he's given over all seasons of this show.

Only have seen the first 3 episodes of this part of season 5. Jimmy being involved again and that whole Texas subplot definitely feels a bit like a backdoor pilot to the 6666 spinoff Sheridan is going to do after this is over.

Once Kaycee asked Beth the business question, I knew EXACTLY what he was talking about, hahaha. I've mentioned it before in this thread too.
