This show definitely needs more than one season I think. But the prospect that they were thinking of doing upwards of five terrifies me. No clue how they could keep it going that long.

I’m kind of confused by Van’s face? There were chunks of her face missing and she got stitched up by a teenager and then when she removed the mask with Taissa it looked like she had just had two or three long cuts. I can’t tell if that’s something we’re supposed to be questioning or if it’s just TV magic/suspension of belief

 

I think this episode was supposed to be about 3-4 weeks since the last.

 

That amount of time wouldn’t explain it being healed that much after her teeth being literally exposed, the only explanation I could see making sense is that we only saw her full face through the lens of the shroom trip so maybe what we were seeing wasn’t really what it looks like ? Idk

 

i feel like her face should still look pretty gnarly still, even if they stitched it up 3 weeks ago or whatever. no way that wouldn't have gotten infected before it fully healed.

 

Yeah admittedly I’m having trouble keeping up with how much time has passed while they’ve been stranded but she was super super mangled. This show hasn’t cut corners elsewhere yet so I’d be pretty surprised if we weren’t supposed to give it much thought but it also feels like I’m overthinking it so who knows. If anything, it makes me lean towards thinking there’s a supernatural element at play

 

they have not really done a great job making it look like they’re struggling to survive in the forest imo but it’s fine.

 

I'm probably reaching a bit, but maybe we were supposed to being see her face through Taissa's eyes. Like maybe she sees Van as looking just beautiful as before but just with a couple noticeable scar lines now. But in actuality, her face is gnarrrrrly and infected and real, haha.

 

You mean the Pinchy Effect? Could be.

 

Van is a starfish and can regenerate limbs , and whatever makes you impervious to multiple fires

 

There was a flicker of colored light next to her face on the side of the damage when Tai looked at her, which could be evidence it’s through her eyes/supernatural or shroom related

 

In terms of all that:

Could be the shrooms, it could also be a supernatural element at play. Were we supposed to believe that the plane explosion was just an old plane catching fire, or was it something spontaneous and surreal in that the teddy bear just suddenly caught fire?

 

we don't know yet and that's something I'm really enjoying about this series

For some reason I thought it was a limited and everything that happens/had happened on the island we’ve been privy too. I just thought it would be silly to withhold shit and retread for multiple seasons. Idk.

 

There’s plenty of story left to tell

 

I actually really love a concise product/vision - 1-3 seasons tops. I don’t need to milk it cause it’s good. I’d certainly watch it I just don’t know that I need it.

 

They are also not on an island…haha

 

Yeah 5 seasons seems like too much. I feel like 3 would be perfect.
