Re Mari theories

I don't think she's gonna be pit girl. Not with that winking at the audience ass intro where Mari joked about being a decoy. Notice in the intro the last girl to have the totem was Gen, the other dark haired girl (who they just recasted btw meaning she's gonna have a bigger role) I think that was scene was blatant foreshadowing. After watching episode 2 I feel like they have bigger plans for Mari other than just being a casualty

second episode was a lot goofier than the first but this still feels like a bounce back, hope it keeps up

Lauren Ambrose is carrying the adult storyline so hard right now lmao

 

Honestly the Callie stuff In the present day is also pretty good this season so far too.

Hate to say it, but the present day half is just way better without Julliette Lewis' half hearted wooden performance. There is still that dissonant tonal difference where the present day stuff is lighter and goofier compared to the past where it kinda feels like two entirely different shows spliced together, but it's not as jarring this time.

 

I am starting to think that the final season/endgame of this series they're going to completely flip it: flashback arc will be post-rescue at home in the late 1990's/early 2000's (which the showrunners confirmed we will eventually explore that era), while the present day arc will them returning to the wilderness.

 

I thought the first episode was very boring

 

After watching LOST for the first time and realizing how much this show rips from it and how inferior it is in comparison, and after the lackluster last season, I’m just not feeling excited for the new one. I’ll still watch though

 

The writing and acting is very weird this season and the tone is all over the place.

This season getting some pretty lackluster reviews. I am still locked in good or bad until the end for this.

 

I am not worried about the quality with this show, it’s pure entertainment for me.

 

These first 2 episodes weren’t very entertaining though. Pretty boring to me.

 

Melissa kissing a girl holding a knife to her throat is classic and iconic queer girl behavior

Nat's roots are finally starting to look like shit , it was so funny how perfect her hair looked without any care

 

Be wary there is a credible spoiler for a major twist in the past storyline that might happen going around. I guess one of the names of the episode titles backs up the leak as possibility being forreal.

 

first two episodes seemed pretty par for the show, I really just want less of the current timeline for the most part

 

You never really know with this show but currently my theorybrain is leading towards Mari being the big bad in the present. Again I think the foreshadowing in the season intro was clear she isn't going to be pit girl. My theory is she is going to be converted or radicalized by whatever is happening to Coach Scott, and further fucked up when he dies. Wouldn't shock me right now if Mari is the one behind the letters

 

Unless they were trying to fake us out, seems like Melissa probably makes it out with the intertwining of the scenes at the end of the second episode. Wonder if that’s who Hilary Swank is playing? They’ve been pretty secretive about it when they were asked during interviews.

I think it was really smart to never give a count on the survivors from the plane crash in episode 1 or the survivors from the wilderness so the writers can just add characters whenever and there’s a suspension of disbelief that they were there the whole time
