Showtime has a nearly 20 year track record of dropping the ball on every single original series they do that is initially successful a few seasons in, I still have hope this show can bounce back in season 3 but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it continues on this path. I can't name a single Showtime series that has been consistently good from beginning to end, not a single one.
Remember during the first couple seasons of Billions when it would get compared to Succession before it really started to devolve into essentially a USA Network Original tier series with a slight premium cable prestige sheen? that seems like eons ago lol
honestly if homeland was 1 or 2 seasons it could have been close to the GOAT and instead it had like 8 seasons lol how is billions still on
It is the second ever Damian Lewis Showtime series to last past Lewis wanting to be in the show anymore. It is going into season 7 which hasn't been conformed as the last yet which means it might get an 8th season which is insane.
I'm definitely not in the camp that the show isn't salvageable. It's not THAT bad. One good season and we're back in business and the wilderness stuff is more than solid. I do wish this was on HBO or like prime even
Multiple spin-off series for Billions are in the works too, so apparently it still makes the network money somehow
In regards to that potential bonus episode: https://screenrant.com/yellowjackets-season-2-bonus-episode-jason-ritter-cameo/
I made it a routine to stay up until 2 am CT for new S2 episodes so I could view them right when they dropped on streaming. The possibility of a bonus episode this week kinda makes me want to do it tonight.
I'm late but I loved this, was completely shocked by a lot of these choices. What a ridiculous show. If I was a shitty cop, and I just found my partner murdered in the trunk of a car, and a weird little elf guy ran up and grabbed my gun to shoot him more, I have no idea what my reaction would be. But because of this show I know for sure that it wouldn't be low level bewilderment and saying "hey who are you?"
The Boogeyman starring Sophie Thatcher is out in theaters today if anyone is already missing Yellowjackets. Probably won’t be anything groundbreaking but hoping it’s a fun enough time.
word is it's an episode about Cabin Guy starring Jason Ritter, we know they shot it with the rest of s2 from BTS photos but for whatever reason they didn't air it yet. it's a between seasons bonus now
but like.... a stand alone? I assumed its filmed. A full episode? lol ive never heard of a show doing a one off episode a few months later. showtime ploy to keep us around?
