I love that per the showrunner the conception of this show came about when she read the negative backlash the (now cancelled) all female Lord of the Flies adaptation WB announced was getting online a few yeas ago, and she thought "i could find a way of doing a version of this idea that is good".
One thing I've been unclear on. Who is this detective supposed to be? Is he that kid in the Marilyn Manson shirt from the pilot, or is he the kid who Nat's dad caught her with with a few episodes ago?
Just finished episode six. Wow this show is so bold. There is one scene (you'll know it when you see it) that might make many people uncomfortable. I don't think i've ever seen that portrayed so bluntly on television before. Respect that they were unafraid to go there. Don't know where a lot of this is going but the one thing i'm pretty confident about is that Jeff has something to do with the blackmail
Yeah that scene was dark as fuck. Another great episode though. I can’t wait another second for Jackie to find out about the baby!!!!
Also the Shauna giving birth to a fried chicken baby then eating it dream sequence was crazy as hell too
yep episode 6 goes more into this too. Episode 5 though was when i thought "ok so this is the moment where we finally find out what kind of show this is". i was hesitant at first but i'm into it. I know for the first 4 episodes most people had the assumption the elevator pitch for this show was "Lord of the Flies but with girls", but now i feel like it's more like " Lost meets Hereditary."
shit i can see now where Lynskey said episode 8 is going to be huge, because 7 definitely sets up some crazy stuff. Also "if this was a horror movie she'd (Lottie) be the villain" yeah there's no way she's antler queen or going to be be main antagonist here
All caught up with the first 7 episodes. Pretty excited to see what happens, and I'm still unsure if the Travis and blackmail plot lines are related or not. Leaning no
It's perfectly paced. Certain series being released all at once has really ruined that for a lot of people.
she's not. there is a brief screenshot from the official trailer that shows her with what looks like a bandage over half her face. Also in the screenshot she's standing with Lottie whose looking very creepy and possessed
Episode 8 wasn't quite as huge as Lynskey made it out to be, but still pretty great. that spontaneously combusting teddy bear shit was crazy
