I have seen interviews with the showrunners where they pretty much say there is never going to be a moment in this series where they explicitly reveal everything happening is supernatural and it's not just trauma. Its always going to be at least somewhat ambiguous.
That tracks. But I think it's unsustainable. They keep pulling quasi-supernatural stuff out of their hat every other episode. I'm getting a bit fed up with all the TV shows ive been seeing where characters spend all the time seeing things or people that may or not be there, as a means for suspense. As a device I think it's being overused nowadays.
I just checked it on Justwatch and I see The Watermelon Woman is also currently on Showtime. Definitely going to check it out.
Valid argument for gender neutral categories but I’m also not sure they would’ve received a nomination anyway.
The only award show I know of that has gender neutral categories is the MTV Movie & TV Awards. It's on 5/7 and Yellowjackets is currently nominated for both Best Show and and Best Performance in a Show (Ricci).
Careful on social media. Some YouTubers that were able to review the first 6 episodes put up E6 recap videos accidentally bc they didn’t know the episode wasn’t today most are taken down but that spawned random people making videos/posts about it
I could not resist temptation and spoiled myself. Someone with a screener should just leak the episode.
Started this show about a week ago and caught up fully, love everything about it and can’t wait to start diving into some online theories!
Yeah…fuck. What a gut punch. I was filled with dread the whole episode regardless, thinking something bad must happen…but that rug pull. Oh my god.
yeah holy shit. this was the first episode of any show in a long time I nearly had to stop watching. absolutely gutwrenching stuff from Nelisse there +1 on the Elliot Smith needledrop though. and not even a big song, an actual deep cut too. great choice
Damn, that was tough. Excited to see all the adults together next episode. Curious what's going on with Van at the end there.
This is strange but I had a Yellowjackets dream last night. I can't remember it exactly but I know in that dream for some reason a theory popped in my head that whatever is going on with Coach Scott and his staticy timejumpy flashbacks has something to do with the cabin guy and/or the mystery shadow guy Jackie saw at the end of last season I think there is going to be a major mind blowing twist with that character.
lost it at Coach Ben being the sex ed teacher and Van listening to Your Woman half your wardrobe is Sleater Kinney tour tees
Please. Can we end this detective, Shauna family murder shit. Its NOT interesting, like at all. You would have thought out of all the stories from S1, TAI being mayor and her wife finding the dogs head in the basement would be the one we continue. Not Shauna having a mid life crisis.
Shauna definitely has gone through the most in the wilderness, loving the stealing mini van back type plots with her while all the Adam Martin stuff feels like a drag.
Drew from Search Party is more evil in this show than whatever darkness they brought back with them tho
