Yeah i wanna have faith in the show because it’s too early to say that it’s not working, but there are so many plot lines that are advancing reeeaallllyy slowly up to this point and I feel in general that that’s a bad sign in television. Ranking in terms of my interest at this point: 1) everything happening out in the woods 2) Misty & Elijah Wood, Detectives 3) Whatever Lottie is doing, past and present 4) Tai (now that Van is in the picture; struggled with staying tuned in when it was her family stuff) 5) Natalie putting goldfish in her mouth (I gagged) 6) Shauna family drama snooze fest Although this will likely change week-to-week depending how the storylines intersect.
I’d have more faith if it wasn’t on showtime that just loves to milk shows for way longer than they should go.
Baffled rn to be honest. I thought people here enjoyed this show. This season has moved at the same pace as last season, which was also a slow-burn. Just luxuriate in it.
I do feel bad being cynical. I do like the show. Haha I know I mentioned it last week but now I can't stop noticing how much I don't like Juliette Lewis in this. Its annoying because I thought the Natalie character was supposed to be the character we were supposed to be rooting for most. The moral compass. But Juliette Lewis acting like drunk Juliette Lewis is disappointing.
Why does Travis have no facial hair? I mean I’m not one to talk because I can’t grow hair for shit but by that point I would have had 20 very long hairs on my face
Yeah if Yellowjackets pulls it off and doesn't overstay it welcome and runs too long, it would be the first Showtime Original series to do so. Dexter, Homeland, Weeds, Californication, Shameless, ect all got ridiculous and/or extremely uninteresting towards the end.
only just saw the last two eps, not exactly the strongest run of the show so far but still entertaining. laughed pretty hard at the waitress leaving at Jeff's strawberry lube line also they changed the opening theme song? i am not about that at all
It is a worrying sign that lately with this show it feels like I am watching two entirely different shows intercut together, with one being way better and more interesting than the other. I do have hope that they will shake that off later and things will start to feel a little bit more cohesive.
they just permanently replaced it?? terrible decision imo, the original is one of the best theme songs in recent memory. i hate this
I thought I read the Alanis version was just for this week’s ep, wouldn’t be mad if they kept it but it would be weird to suddenly do that.
truthfully I couldn't care less about the theme. if you like the original, then just throw it on a playlist and listen to it yourself. the criticisms are getting annoying honestly disappointed that this thread has just become people nitpicking what they don't like about this otherwise fantastic show. y'all don't deserve it.
Yeah, wasn't a big episode but I was still super invested in it. Also, I prefer the original theme and never skip it when it comes on lol
lmao we can't voice the slightest criticism of this show in a forum that exists for discussion of this show? that's literally what this place is for. you may want to take a step back if the kind of very mild and reasonable critiques people are making in here of a show we all clearly love discussing upset you this much
Don't care about the theme song or whatever. Saying the show is adding too many plotlines is a totally valid criticism. My faith that they will stick the landing keeps getting lower.
I don't think any person on here is saying "fuck this show entirety". People are allowed to be critical of the things they like.
Of course it’s fine to discuss, but in the last two pages it became a pile-on of critiques and complaints. I personally trust where it's going. The complaints just seemed to come out of nowhere and IMO it's frustrating when this is one of the best shows currently out rn.
I think after every episode everyone should come to this thread and post “perfect episode, no notes”. It would be a great discussion.
