Was not expecting everyone to turn to cannibalism that quickly and all together like that. Can only guess it's gonna get weirder and darker from here on.
That episode was great, the ending was obviously very unsettling but some of the Lottie scenes were straight up scary too lol, for some reason the premiere didn’t hit for me, maybe my mood wasn’t right but this one got my hype back
Also I got real confused when someone called Lottie "Charlotte" before I realized that is her actual name.
All caught up. Good stuff. Lol it's funny, I'm so afraid of shows getting canceled before they finish that I'm nervous at the pace of this show. I appreciate it but I still feel like we're taking our sweet time here.
They said in some interview they have five seasons in their mind, I was expecting 3 or 4 so things must really go off the rails and stay there.
Yeah I was thinking the other day that this has the opportunity to be the first multi season Showtime series that doesn't overstay it's welcome and nails the landing.
I didn't realize it until my second watch of this episode but I am pretty sure Coach Ben dies of starvation at the end. I think that is what the bird stuff was supposed to signify.
I could see that, but it sounds like from this interview he’s still alive and we’re about to see things get progressively worse for him: He continues, “You haven’t seen the ultimate consequences of what happens as a result of him kind of going into his own psyche, but it’s intense. And it’s sad and it’s scary. And I think that people are really going to enjoy it; it gives a nice little inflection and an inside peek at exactly what he’s going through.” Krueger adds: “All of a sudden, I’m completely impotent. I don’t really know who I am anymore, I don’t really know how to identify myself when I look in the mirror. So if I’m only left with that, it leads to what we see with Coach Ben in the rest of the season, which is him becoming very internal and dealing with his own psyche, because that’s really all he has left. He’s questioning, where do I go at this point? Who is this person? I don’t even recognize him anymore. And given everything else that’s going on externally, that’s a really hard thing to deal with.” https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/t...-ben-jackie-feast-cannibalism-1235368401/amp/
Also, Van is a very brave person because if I was in the woods in the middle of the night with my violent, sleepwalking girlfriend and she told me she was following “the one with no eyes”, you can bet I’d be the epitome of the Abe Simpson gif.
Crazy that Samantha Hanratty did that scene after just watching the Sally Field monologue on YouTube a few times, and never seeing Steel Magnolias before.
One criticism I have for this show: Some of Juliette Lewis' delivery of lines are very rough, like "is this really the best take they had?" rough. Her screen presence is so strong though that I can overlook the occasional moments of iffy acting.
People are pointing out Mari's "abstract" dreamcatcher with big sharp wooden spikes as possibly foreshadowing A future major plot point for that character.
It never bothered me before but I really noticed this episode how the actress that plays young Natalie is trying really hard to make her voice sound like Juliette Lewis. It just doesn’t sound natural. Then again anything involving Juliette Lewis deeply annoys me
Hot take? But im not digging for Juliette Lewis this season. She's being a little over the top. But I love young Juliette Lewis girl. The younger actress whatever her name is
