That was the scene I referenced as being the one that almost made me stop watching. But nothing after that even comes close to the same level of terrible so I think it’s just a weird anomaly. I am VERY nervous about that and nervous the focus is going to shift too far from the unsinkable eight
Only tagging in case people are trying to stay unaware of happenings and such but how did I never know Jocelyn from A Knight’s Tale was in Warpaint
Not a huge fan of the theme but i leaned today that the theme along with the score for the show were co-written by Craig Wedren of Shudder To Think, who were labelmates and frequent openers for Fugazi in the 90's.
I really dislike the theme song, but I get what they’re going for and the visuals are perfect. They nailed the nostalgia there like in the show, where it’s almost too close and you would swear you’ve seen/heard it before from the era.
i was gonna be snarky and say something about “wow I hope they’re okay with whatever we end up learning about the cult” or something to that effect but this is significantly better
In Kayla Kumari’s recaps for Autostraddle, she pointed out in the finale that the girls are still playing the game of high school without realizing they’re somewhere that the rules have changed and I can’t get it out of my head. Like, Misty planned to drug Ben and all the girls refuse to let her touch their food. Which is fair and valid. Then you look at Jackie’s case. She outs Shauna’s pregnancy, reads her journal, isn’t contributing as much as the others, hooks up with Travis, plus building resentment from before the crash. But then the final straw is that she lashes out after being locked in the closet or small room while everyone is on mushrooms. YJ picks really great moments to remind us that these are teenage girls who don’t have any of the mental or emotional tools to navigate what’s happening to them. Not that anyone would but shit’s obviously going to go haywire much quicker with a bunch of 15-18 year olds
