One small thing i didn't get. Why was Allie class chair when in the pilot they said she was a freshman when the rest were seniors?

 

Yeah that stuck out to me as well. That and the responses in that Vulture article about Jackie's future diary and Taissa's eyes are making me take a step back and leave way more room for coincidences and oversights instead of just assuming literally everything is super intentional

I recently read that the showrunners originally intended for the wilderness timeline to take place in the 1970's and for the present timeline to take place in the 1990's. Thank god they decided to change it up.

Also they pitched this to HBO and they turned it down because "it was too similar to another project they had". I'm puzzled what that project was. I know WB has had a Lord of the Flies adaptation in the pipeline for awhile, which was originally intended to be all female, i'm wondering if it was that.

Van really reminds me of someone, even more than the people mentioned, but I haven’t been able to figure out who it is. They’re almost in an uncanny valley area where I would swear they’re an actor from the exact 90s era this is set in, but I have to keep reminding myself they were born in 1995.
