War Paint and Reach for the Sun are both way better than any of the Wonder Years records. I think TWY have always been a lot more ambitious, which might make them seem "better" or at least "grander," but TDS almost always accomplished what they were going for on those first two LPs whereas I think a lot of the Wonder Years stuff is overwrought and hamfisted in execution. I also think AJ is just a way better lyricist. It always feels to me like Soupy is writing lines because he thinks they will sound sad and profound, and AJ was writing lines because he lived them. There are exceptions, obviously, but the Dangerous Summer's music always struck me as more genuine and personal.
Says the dude who was hating on TWY like a month ago! I can't decide if I find Soupy's vocals or AJ's vocals on Golden Record more exhausting.
Nah that was a while ago. I've come back around and posted a pretty in depth reason as to why in the band thread
Something fucked up and I got refunded for my tickets on ATL and now it's sold out. I'm trying not to cry. Jacksonville is the next closest but I'd have to get a hotel room, etc.
noo! That is so shitty. But you should totally go to Jacksonville cause I'm trying to go to that one! :P
As long as it doesn't sell out before I can get a ticket, yeah haha. I already have my ticket for the orlando show though!
Hey @SpyKi and @FTank, come argue about how my opinions on the first Boys Like Girls record are stupid. Boys Like Girls – Boys Like Girls
I had pegged this week too as the next single week. But all is quiet on the russian super uber duper leak site.
