"MSK" is perfect, period. Cannot wrap my head around how anyone who is a fan of this band would not like that song.
Yeah only real bands play ROCK with INSTRUMENTS you say Miley Cyrus I say Metallica you say Justin Bieber I say Nickelback you say synth I say guitar you say pop I scream in your face ROCK AND METAL 95% of teens have turned to rap and pop garbage so let's show YouTube the 5% of us that still know how to ROCK
hahaha, i just don't like it. repetitive and boring. also not a fan of the uh-uhuuuuuh's. i can imagine that you like it and think it's beautiful though, but it's just not my cup of tea. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Fair enough. I'd mostly agree with this statement, though I think there are a handful pop punk songs on Lights & Sounds. There are none on Lift a Sail.
Eh, I think it's a stretch to call those songs pop punk, particularly the latter. "Make Me So" is definitely the closest, which is why it doesn't fit on the album. But I still think it feels less like typical pop punk than stuff like "Lights & Sounds," "Rough Landing Holly," "Sure Thing Falling," etc. "Deepest Well" is symphonic rock in the vein of late Anberlin.
Real talk this is a really good rock band all in all. Weird that despite how influential YC are we haven't really seen any other bands attempt the "violin inside a pop punk/rock band"
I wish more bands would experiment with lineups though. Can I get one band with a permanent accordion player? Geez.
Counting Crows have an accordion player who is a full time member, but he also does piano and keyboards. And clarinet, apparently.
Not here to pick fights or anything but I just need to say that the clarinet is easily my least favorite woodwind instrument
