I think someone said it’s $60 something plus fees, which doesn’t make me feel any better about Ticketmaster being “all in” and just rolling $25 in fees into the price for a show at a venue they own. It’s hard to stomach knowing Warped is a little over a month later and that same price gets you a full day of 30+ bands.
Won't find me defending Ticketmaster. (But, to be honest, also won't find me spending a day on my feet for comparatively short sets, less production value, and a bunch of bands I don't really have any interest to see. I dunno, given what Blink and FOB cost, the last two "big" shows I went to, I was pleasantly shocked at the price.)
I did Warped last year and completely agree that at our big ages it’s a struggle. I think I walked somewhere around 13 miles over two days. The YC/ADTR show started at $50 up to $125; this being $86 is a tough sell to me. With two of my favorite bands of all time on this bill, I’m still very much interested in going but weighing buying a ticket for my 8 year old and him probably not being super interested in the significance makes it no longer the impulse buy it would have been at $66. I also really would have rather seen these two heavy hitters bring along a younger band to open (maybe Honey Revenge or Sincere Engineer or something) instead of the T’s.
Yes Warped was $150 for two days of music but that also included half a day of using half functional portapotties during a flooding downpour in DC so there are always trade offs.
Amusing to see people in the crowd with lightsticks, makes me feel like I'm seeing a pic of a J-Rock or J-Pop concert
What t-shirt brand is Ryan wearing on that date? The collar looks nice and it seems like heavier, quality material. The boxy shape looks comfortable too
The single release of "Bedroom Posters" feat Good Charlotte is #32 on the Alternative chart (up from #44 last week): Mediabase Building Charts
“Better Days” as a song still just fucking RIPS. My daughter and her other little friends sing along to it and ask to play it when they’re over at our house. This is not me as a dad, pleading to them trying to get them to listen to what I want. They have the entire history of recorded music available and they choose this and MCS and Turnstile and Green Day. Dammit, I feel very lucky tonight.
God damn it’s such a fucking BOP. How wild would it be for them to get two #1 singles from a comeback record?
It'll probably get to at least #20 this week, but will need some help to jump higher than that I think - the stuff #20 thru like #26 are all apart by only a few plays. But then #19 jumps another 100 or so plays.
Everything's super close - within a few plays of each other in the #13 thru #17 range - but Bedroom Posters coming in at #16 this week! https://www.hitsdailydouble.com/mediabase_building_charts/alternative
