Unless there ends up being a tour variant on the second leg of the tour with ADTR, this is the full variant collection for the 1st Pressing of Better Days. Five of the seven variants each came with a different poster, as seen in the picture.
My two favorite are probably the Blue w/ Orange Splatter (this was AP w/ collectors zine) & the Pink & Yellow Splatter (this was indie retail exclusive).
How good is Lift A Sail? The vibe when Crash The Gates starts, man, and than the dance vibe on You make me so, and is Madrid one of the most underrated slower Yellowcard songs? What an album Oh and the violin solo on Fragile And Dear
Yes, it’s my favorite record of theirs. Illuminate, what a song. And it’s the definitely the drumming style that makes this record special, I think Nate’s drumming fits them so well on this record. Sound so massive at times.
I'm not able to make it to a show on the second leg of the tour, but a friend got it for me, and sent this picture (also posted in the band's Discord): About a month ago, a random mock up of a variant that wasn't included in the initial Better Days preorder was posted in a think an email newsletter from BNM, and THIS is what that looked like: So I believe that's what it was. No idea what it's limited to though. I believe my friend mentioned it seemed like they were limiting what they were selling per night (which is always a good thing - it's brutal when a tour variant sells out after like a week's worth or shows, or less).
DAMN. Since I'm returning the Cotton Candy swirl, it sure would be nice to own this one instead. I know it won't be online though. I'll likely just ask for the standard blue for an exchange. :/
It could be listed online later. Not everyone goes to a concert wanting to lug around a vinyl record - it'll really depend on what it's limited too, which I'm hoping to get an answer on that eventually. It obviously wasn't as hyped as a release, but they had left overs of the Childhood Eyes tour variant a couple of years ago & listed them online with the rest of their left over merch (and are still available on EVR's webstore). I'm surprised how many people are that disappointed by the Cotton Candy variant. I get that the mock up had the colors showing more, but mock ups are just estimates of what it could look like. When I hold mine up to the light, the colors show enough where the variant comes across fine.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll keep an eye out for that Blue Ghost variant. I like that it looks like a liquid vinyl without having liquid in it. I may just get the standard blue for now and snag that one online later if it's available. My gripe with the Cotton Candy variant is I felt tricked by it. This could be argued from multiple perspectives, but the mockup made it look white with the swirl in it, which I think would've turned out much better. Nothing in the description said it would be a white or clear vinyl underneath. If they'd put that extra info in there, I would've skipped with it being clear. The colors look very faint in the few images I've seen, so I'm not going to risk it by opening it to check. I took it as a lesson: avoid "swirl" variants for clear vinyl, clear "splatters" are fine.
Get where you're coming from. Agreed that swirl variants could be reserved for only colored vinyl, and not clear. They definitely CAN look cool, but more of a risk of it not coming out the way it was originally intended. I think splatter is good on both clear & colored.
saw them in bloomington normal this week, great show. they killed it. got the ghost blue vinyl. life is good.
Sorry I spaced on replying, but I wanted to say thanks for the heads up on this! I got it ordered and my return in right before the window ended. Looking forward to getting this!
In just about 2 hours and 17 minutes, the boys will be played on this stream. https://www.youtube.com/live/nuVc5zyILhY?si=pxmv7UNGUZokTRbA
Holy shit, look I've never seen a bad Yellowcard performance so the bar is always high, but there is something about this set that is just a bit elevated, everyone is on, every note is crisp, the clips between songs are awesome, pyro, lights everything, Light Up The Sky jfc that was just magical.
