While the production has some of that Travis sheen, it's not as much as I expected. these sound like proper modern YC
i liked both! i'm going to hold off from listening more and just wait for the album so i don't overplay them. but i am really enjoying the sound of everything, so i'm looking forward to the rest!
“I’m not going to buy any more vinyl for the foreseeable future” Cotton candy variant it is. These songs make me feel good.
Rank the album covers. honestly, i am still a little sad that this one's not doing much for me. PW OA SA WYTTSY YC LAS OFTK
I hope so too, although that guitar weighs a ton so it's a bit of a burden live lol. I have one from '07 that needs some work and this music video is really making me want to get it going again.
yeah, that's the only thing i don't care for here. the meaning is sweet, but i'm forever a sucker for their landscape art haha
i just paused it and looked thru every frame at 2:30. i guess i dont get it....what am i looking for?
I wondered if they would use Travis's bass from Mike Dirnt where he never changes the strings and uses it on like every record he does, and sure enough they just talked about it on Twitch lol. Also, Andrew Goldstein did some co-writing on the record. He was a part of a lot of really good songs on ONE MORE TIME.
Just watched the video, so very many feelses. That drop at 1:03, with the phaser/flanger somethin or another was chef's kiss. @williamryankey did you catch the explorer bug from Vic ? Yay to pointy guitars!
I popped for WWE announcer Mike Rome as the popcorn guy. Sean in the karate costume looks like Speedball Bailey.
Songs are good. Felt like the classic YC sound. I’m not massive on the production, like every pop punk record these days I wish the guitars had bite more consistently, but it didn’t detract from the songs too much. Definitely looking forward to this.
Yeah def hearing a couple Dude Ranch riffs in there. It’s like Rivertown Blues from Southern Air, with a tinge of Blink.
