Skin Scraped the first "explicit" yellowcard song?

 

I’ll admit I did chuckle at the phaser drum fills in both songs. (not sure what the effect is called but you know what I mean)

No complaints though, songs sound great. Second verse of Better Days is money.

those drum parts definitely sounded familiar. haha. that said, this sounds great.

 

The hooks in both songs are incredible. Reminds me of the run Paper Walls through Southern Air where I would hear the chorus of a song once and would be singing it the rest of the day.

Travis popped off on honestly i… sounds so great on top of a YC song.

 

As someone from Jacksonville, “you do you, we’ll see if it affects our career, im just excited for this opportunity” was very on brand for a Jacksonville band to say about a sensitive topic. Reminded me directly of why I left town.

 

Man I wish the ending on Better Days were longer or maybe it will continue on Take What You Want? Nevertheless great new songs. Riff on Better Days is so Yellowcard.

Better Days totally sounds like a Paper Walls song, hell yes.

honestly I reminds me of blink instrumentals with classic Yellowcard hooks, if that makes sense. Really dig both.

 

Travis slays on these. Both remind me a little of that Paper Walls era. "honestly i" has some of that Southern Air feel too.

Ok, new label peeps, time to send me the album. Can't overplay these before hearing the rest.
