yeah, didn't the original studio image they posted have 13 tracks listed? I bet they'll do a deluxe release with how common they are rn.
well, at least the singer of the band in question isn't actively in the replies of the thread being weird and aggressive to people who are expressing real concerns. oh wait
The white board they posted a picture had like 13 or 14 songs listed on it, so I’d guess they might be going the route of a regular version and then a deluxe version (similar to One More Time… Part 2), maybe? I also think Key alluded to this in one of his Twitch streams a couple of months ago.
That's what everyone is here for. But it doesn't make you look cool, it makes you look like a douchebag lol
Admittedly I don't know a lot about ADTR and don't involve myself in their personal lives (I'll have to read up on the articles sent in this thread)...Yellowcard appears to not be headlining so it's already a bit of a disappointment regardless. But if it's arena shows...epic...
Okay, seeing as you’ve chosen to be a rude and condescending to concerned fans, I’ll bite. What did you expect, Ryan? You’ve chosen to tour with a band that not only attempted to hide sexual assault allegations, but murder too. Do you not understand how this looks, or do you simply not care? The court documents are out there, but sure, because you’re buds with the band, you totally have “the real story,” right? I mean, god forbid we form our own opinions with the information we have. Again, it's public domain. Look it up. And please, don’t use your family as justification for sketchy decisions. If you’re going to tour with bad people, be accountable and back yourself. Still, like you insinuated, at least you’ll make paper, right? Victims be damned.
seems pretty relevant to the band this thread is for, why put it somewhere people can willfully ignore it?
As much as I'm intrigued by a tour and new album, I'd really rather not wade through ADTR fans to see it played.
I think, and this is just me speculating from the tone of Ryan's postings, that the impulse is to see this as an attack on his character rather than a concern for his character, and I think that distinction gets further lost the more aggressive both sides become. Maybe everyone should tone it back a few notches, I dunno. Did you remove this post earlier or something? Could swear I read this earlier today.
It might be their best opportunity to play arenas. Getting to sit down and see Yellowcard in an arena would be epic. I'll just leave after Yellowcard plays
Oh please. What about concern for the victims, huh? But no, let's protect the man in the pop-punk band's feelings.
This is not the way to have a rational and fruitful discussion. What is being gained from being antagonistic about making your point? And don't get me wrong, I'm actually directing this at Key as well. No mutual and beneficial gain of understanding was ever achieved by acting like this. It's not about protecting feelings, it's about acting like a goddamn adult.
Yesterday I finished reading the R. Kelly book and it bummed me out how many replies across time to the journalist who broke the story ended up being "I'm just excited for the music" or "It's just music". He wrote some GREAT responses to the point of it "just being music" that's being put out and how loudly supporting the artist's music still ends up enabling others Sharing for no reason. I highly recommend the book to all music fans though
This isn't the defense that you think it is and honestly incredibly dismissive of all victims. In a scene where many fans have been victimized and abused by the bands they saw and loved, you can understand why some fans of Yellowcard might be disappointed to learn you're touring with a band that has the history of said abuse.
I think it'd be really easy to say "Hey I understand your concern for sure, we are aware and familiar of the situation and believe that since this person is no longer there/whatever you believe, this will be a safe situation and we will not be enabling shitty people, etc" and maybe that wouldn't be a perfect response for everyone but it'd at least be somewhat considerate "You weren't there" is something people say about a myriad of harsh truths that they want to deny (that I won't get into). "This is an opportunity for [my] family" is something echoed by fans of a certain other maligned band who has had a member do terrible things to justify them coming back. I dunno. I feel for y'all YC fans who are hearing these things when you have concerns because I think it could've been a lot easier for y'all. Just a weird situation and weirder reaction
