Random but the album with Hammock is suddenly hitting more than it did when it came out. I was feeling very anxious this morning and as I reach the end of the album, I feel like I've been soothed. What a beautiful body of work.
My dream at this point would be for them and good charlotte to tour together. Both have new music on the horizon and have yet to announce full tours.

Hiding in the Light was #1 on my Spotify most played last year Secretly hoping it sneaks into a set or two this year because I think it would murder live, but I'm not going to be that guy - I'm just happy they're back and absolutely crushing it. and adding Travis to the mix? Talk about icing on the mf'ing cake
Three nights til I see them again. Not sure whether I should wear the RIP shirt they were selling at their farewell tour as a joke.
I don't think we're getting one this week. At this point, I assume the news Key was talking about being out before the Australian tour was that Travis was gonna be confirmed (and not just teased/speculated) as the producer/drummer on the album. I gotta believe we don't have to wait THAT much longer though? I hope? I'm sure since I'm posting this they'll surprised drop a single tomorrow morning though.
Based on the fact that they just looked for polling/feedback on which single to go with, I would imagine it’s gonna be at least a little bit. Especially if a video launches with the single they decided on. I’m going with early May single release, album in August.
Some random thoughts on YC songs: Cut Me Mick - By far the coolest drumming of any YC song. Banger and a half. Excited to see what Travis brought on this new release though. Date Line - Still remains my favorite YC song of all time and one I've always wanted to hear live and acoustically. Southern Air - Probably my second favorite YC song of all time. Their best closer to date. Song hits me hard every time I hear it. Sleep in the Snow - Banger. So glad I got to see this song live. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Telescope - Their most underrated deep cut in my opinion. Lift a Sail - Their most beautiful song, no question. Hiding in the Light - Absolutely needs some love in the setlist!
i didnt get to hear any of the song clips so this is my first time hearing this at all. that guitar riff is straight out of Paper Walls. love it. these dudes just continue to write great songs.
Put this on Instagram and predictably no one cared so I'll put it here as well. I didn't need Yellowcard to come back. I'd accepted their sojourn into the sunset. But the joy of belting out your favourite songs in a room of tangled bodies and shadowy shapes is everlasting. I'm a different person to who I was in 2017 when they hung up the cowl. The friendships I have are stronger. And if I didn't listen to Yellowcard, I likely wouldn't be as close as I am with some of my friends. We've bonded over Ocean Avenue, praised Paper Walls, extolled the virtues of Southern Air. Seeing the band for a fourth time, and seeing them so candid and honest, makes you realise how grateful you are not just for their music, but how it's one of the few ultimate connectors in this world. I'm lucky for the impact Yellowcard have had on my life, and by extension, the impact people have had on me because of them.
Had a little over 5 hour drive yesterday through quiet empty country roads. So I hit play on Ocean Avenue and got almost through self titled. It was therapy I didn’t know I needed. What a run of music.
