Take will probably be a grower for me, but it definitely doesn’t sound bad. Better Days on the other hand… yes yes yes
Wow both snippets rule. Better Days is the obvious choice for sounding like classic YC but Take What You Want took me by surprise. Something about it, the delivery in the chorus maybe, reminds me of Silverstein's poppier stuff or Acceptance? Very 00s scene alt/emo rock to my ears. It's slightly different for them in a good way.
TWYW has my vote and it’s not close, been a while since i’ve heard a true earworm like that from them. Ryan was not kidding when he said they had something big cooking here
I got to say, Ryan is really going for it with his vocal melodies this time around…that’s probably the most exciting thing about both tracks. Better Days is high in his register and the melody in TWYW is something new for them. Beyond stoked
WOW. That warm blanket just got pulled right over me. I am so damn excited about this! A summer release would be excellent! Take What You Want has those Travis Barker sounding drums. I'm not a drummer so the best I can describe it is they have that glitch characteristic Travis likes to do. Kind of like in Bored To Death. So damn cool. Then Better Days has those huge sounding drums that could shake an arena. Lets go!
If they release the first single in 2 weeks and they have a 4 month roll out brings us to July/August
I honestly loved the sound of both, but agree that Better Days is "first single" material. Stoked to hear the full versions of each!
Clips sound really good, especially Better Days. Hadn’t really cared too much about YC for the longest time but the EP brought me back in and now I’m excited for the record.
There’s a lot of gold sprinkled throughout their discography, and a lot of variety too. I’ve always felt that they’re one of the most consistent bands in the genre. They don’t miss. Glad it seems like people are recognizing that again. I have some friends that don’t pay too much attention to new releases and they all seem to have them back on their radar.
I think I speak for everyone when I say that they should just release them both as singles at the same time
Oh man- the production debates are going to run over this album cycle. Childhood Eyes sounded flawless, this will sound like One More Time production wise based on these snippets
